On Pointe Poles
The prefect blend between classical ballet and poles
Intention of this Class
The purpose of this class is to teach the everyday women the basic technique of ballet in order to help her improve with her body placement along with fluidity in her transitions when performing on the pole. My goal is to give these women another perspective/view point on how to attack movement while moving through space around the pole and having a sense of performance.
What I want my girls to Achieve
By the end of my class these women should have a better since of how to point their feet and fully extend their limbs in order to produce clear lines and fuller movement. They will also gain flexibility, coordination, and most important confidence within themselves.
Structure of this Class
This class will start on the floor with exercises that will warm up their body and allow them to focus on one body part at a time
Then we will work our way up to the pole with sensual ballet walks and half turns
While on the pole we will do exercises that follow a ballet class. Meaning – pile`-to bend, into tendu – to stretch, into degage`- to disengage, into battement-big kick.
Near the end of class they will learn a simple dance combination which will incorporate all of the moves they have just learned. This will give them the opportunity to play with the information that they have just taken in, and allow them to let go and have fun!
I will end the class with a nice cool down to slowly bring their heart beat back to normal and to prevent any injuries.
Music Selection
I will be using a mix between classical instrumentals, modern day music with a lyrical style, and jazz/show tunes that have a sassy edge.
Dress Code
This will be done in bare feet. Ladies will need to wear shorts and tops that are formfitting nothing too bagging, so that I’m able to see their body clearly in case I need to make any body alignment corrections.

Just a note to say hello….
Just wanted to let you know I love you Hot Girls!!!! You bring such happiness to the Studio, I just can’t say it enough!!!! Remember your opinion matters to us! If there are classes you want more of, or times you’d like to see added to the calendar TELL ME!!! If we get enough interest we will do everything we can!!!
That said, I’m still adding Pole classes to accomodate everyone, because I want you all to get into the classes you want. Please if you can’t make it to a class, though, please call us!!! Thanks so much Hot Girls!!! Love to all – Honey

FM99 Rocks!!!!

Can I just tell you hot girls….YESTERDAY WAS THE BEST DAY EVER!!!!
Niko emailed me last week to tell me the Rumble on FM99 mentioned Studio Rio after doing a Stupid News story about a women in NY taking pole classes at a gym fell. Rumble said something to the effect of ‘if you want to learn how to do it right, you need to go to Studio Rio!’ LOL….well he didn’t stop there…then he said he would like to take a class to see “just how hard it really is”….well I emailed them as soon as I got to the Studio that morning and invited them to an “Exclusive FM99 Morning Show” pole class. Rumble and Shelley accepted my offer and yesterday at 11:30 they arrived!!! While Rio showed Rumble around I got to play dress up Barbie with Shelley – outfitting her in our Studio Rio gear. Class was on! With Rio, Nina, Sinder and I helping them out we took them through firemans, pinwheels and front hooks. Rumble amazed us with his pole prowess and Shelley was up to try anything we threw at her! She even got into a “fallen angel”….Rumble tried it….but well, he has “things” that get in the way! LOL They were such good sports about everything….we laughed and laughed as the afternoon went on.
They have been so kind to us – they have continued to give us “shout outs” on the radio, we are on the website and I’ve posted the video on ours. I’m so very grateful to them!!!! Check out the videos when you have a chance! And please send FM99 Hot Girl kisses when you can!!!
